Hi, I’m Campbell Gardner — sailor, tinkerer, and lover of all things coastal.
Luminous SeaCharts began with a simple idea: to bring traditional maritime charts to life with light. Using LEDs and fibre optics, I precisely place them to recreate the real-world rhythms of buoys, lighthouses, and navigation marks — exactly as you’d see them on the water.
Each chart is built by hand, with the lights flashing in the correct colours, groupings, and timings based on official IALA standards. Whether you're a sailor, collector, or someone who loves the coast, these illuminated charts are a unique blend of function, memory, and art.
No two builds are quite the same, and that’s part of the charm. I’m always happy to create custom pieces based on your favourite harbour, a special location, or even a wreck site with historical meaning.
To protect and display each chart, I offer custom framing with glass, helping to preserve the artwork while keeping it visually striking and easy to hang.
Thanks for stopping by.
If you have a chart in mind, let me know—I’d love to light it up.
